On the whole, DRONA lacks soul.
DRONA is a big film in all respects. Sadly, it's a big, big, big letdown as well. The screenplay is a complete mess. In fact, if at all there would be Razzies in Bollywood, the three writers of DRONA -- Jaydeep Sarkar, Rohini Killough and Goldie Behl -- should be nominated proto for coming up with a sloppy and slipshod screenplay.
Dosent Impress
Drona keeps repeating his primary concern through the film saying, "humey shrishti ko bachna hoga". There's an implausible pun involved therein as I realized that the producer of this film is called Shrishti Arya. Evidently Drona's outcome is rona.
Drona disappoints
Overall though, this movie disappoints. The screenplay is loose in places, there are too many songs, acting is mostly average, and the music lacklustre. Cannot call it a great entertainer, which is what this movie sets out to be.
Drona - A powerless warrior
As a whole, Drona dashes down our hopes for it lacks solidity on all aspects. Probably, the pre-release promos would have got the theatres booked houseful for this longer weekend. But, it wouldn't cling into theatres for more days
Drona? Na-Nah!
For most of the film it's his sexy guard who takes care of all the action or the evil magician who is getting the better of him. Come on AB, we have paid to watch you knock the daylights off all evildoers. Why so much rona Mr Drona?
Drona falls short
Goldie Behl's attempt to keep it interesting is conspicuous even if not brilliantly executed. And while Drona falls short of being an irresistible experience, it sure had the makings of one. One of the worst movies of the year!
Drona clearly lacks soul to be a superhero/fantasy film. The movie lies on a wafer thin and totally defective plotline that is weakly narrated. Taking its root from Indian mythology, Drona had the scope and the command to become a great superhero but unfortunately disappoints.
Drona claims a stab at a genre never done before.
Watch Drona for Abhishek's reined-in performance as a reluctant hero, and his crackling hissing, but ambivalent chemistry with Priyanka. And for the use of special-effects not to overpower but nourish the plot that strides across two continents and cultures with confident steps.
Drona - Groan-aaaa!
Gentleladies and men. Please make way for our new local superhero – Indiana Drones. Mind you, he doesn’t embark on any trivial mission like the search for the Holy Grail. Drona fights to save nothing less than the entire srishti.
