A saintly musician clings on to his idealism, despite all the violence in the city, until an incident shakes his faith. Firaq shows us the uncomfortable truths and painful reality in which the people of our country must live, as they set about repairing the destroyed trust between two communities.

Firaq - a powerful directorial debut

What makes Das' composition of neatly spread out, multiple story-lines even more effective and credible is her conscious refusal to play upon the intricacy of the religion-based discord. There's not a single attempt to sensationalise a fact or judge any 'side.'
