A profitable venture!
Don't expect fireworks or melodrama in this prem kahani. It's an extremely simple, uncomplicated tale that never goes over the top. The bonding amongst friends is well established. On the whole, JAANE TU… YA JAANE NA is a breezy entertainer which will be loved by its target audience -- the youth. At the box-office, business at multiplexes should ensure a speedy recovery for this moderate budget film.
Good watch
The film has its moments: great restraint, some funny sit-com, a pleasant and youthful lead pair (Imran-Genelia), peppy music (AR Rahman) and riveting cameos by the character actors. But the kahani mein twist is so silly, it makes you want to cry over all the spilt milk.
Quite a sweet releif
Like it or not, the plot that goes gaga about a go-on-express-your-feelings saga shares similarities with Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai and Socha Na Tha. It’s also as predictable as heart-shaped balloons on Valentine’s Day.
A simple story of love and friendship
For many most of the film will be clichéd in many places but while that maybe its drawback, for some it will also be a the factor that will tip things in the film’s favour because it will allow most of us to relate to a time and place in our lives.
Old concept, fresh treatment
Let's get one thing clear - Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na isn't a great film. It had potential, but a lengthy second half and unwanted sub-tracks act as hindrances.
