Naan Kadavul lacks punch
Naan Kadavul is definitely worth a watch for its superb secondary characters, setting and music. Now, if only the screenplay had provided the missing punch.
Brutal depiction of a world unknown
Even adults would need a tough mind to endure this movie. It will make you squirm, cringe, nod and laugh in alternation. Don’t’ expect a regular entertainer, be prepared to get jolted.
Dont watch it with kids or weak hearts
A very different cinema that captures the world of “abandoned” which we’ve never seen in tamil cinema. It also brings the business of cunning people behind those orphans to limelight. Barring those few boring scenes, movie is definitely worth watching! Second half elevates the movie. Naan Kadavul - boring at times, stunning at times, funny at times, disturbing at times, scary at times. Overall - worth watching many times.
Could have been better
Despite the initial build-up, Arya's wooden-faced performance, a weak, implausible script, predictable direction towards its inevitable climax, somewhat snags what otherwise could have been one more good film from Bala.
Pristine cinema
At a time when the clutter of routine commercial cinema gets to you, it's apt that you resort to an eerie film like Naan Kadavul. You might miss the popcorn, but it'll give you a glimpse at pristine cinema.
